Edinburgh Live has been given an exclusive first look at the swish new Argentinian-style restaurant which is set to open in Midlothian this week.

After an eagerly anticipated wait, Parrilla Argentinian Grill in Loanhead will finally be opening their doors to the public on Wednesday, July 19.

The beautifully renovated restaurant will be launching its Argentinian-inspired cuisine, similar to that of its sister restaurant in Musselburgh.

Located on Fountain Place the restaurant is in the heart of Loanhead and easily accessible from Edinburgh by the service 37 and will be a welcome addition to the town.

Images show the modern, industrial design with a beautiful pink lit-up Himalayan wall and water features throughout that give a nod to the Argentinian food that will be served.

Mohammed Rahman an architectural technologist and owner of MSR Architecture and Design who designed the steak house told Edinburgh Live: "The design was inspired by a combination of places in Argentina and the food cooked on premise.

"The bar top is made out of granite from Brazil and there is a backlit salt wall crafted out from the Himalayan mountains in Pakistan.

"Himalayan salt is usually used to marinate the steaks too."

He continued: "The bar feature is a backlit lit onyx marble veneer and is a bespoke made structure from galvanised steel to represent grill marks apparent on steaks.

"The digital water curtain is most likely the first of its kind in Scotland in a restaurant and the main feature. Programmed high-end water jets disperse water in a controlled manner and depict text to images using water.

"The waves in the Chandeliers and water curtain are to represent Argentina’s iguana falls."

The 29-year-old from Southside has freelanced since 2017 before launching his own company in 2021 after Covid and spent years as an assistant to a well-established senior architect who has over 50 years of experience in the industry.
